Pronoun and its kinds


Pronoun:

A word that replaces noun in a sentence, is called pronoun. The noun, It replaces, must have been used in the first clause.
Every word that functions as a noun in a sentence, is called pronoun.
A word that is used instead of a noun, is called pronoun.

E.g: he, she, it, we, you, they, one, neither, either, etc

Subject Pronouns
Object Pronouns
Possessive Pronouns
Reflexive Pronouns
Intensive Pronouns
Relative Pronouns
Demonstrative Pronouns
Interrogative Pronouns


Subject Pronoun:

A pronoun that replaces either the subject or the object of the first clause and functions as the subject in the second clause, is called subject pronoun.
In simple words, It does not matter whether It replaces the subject or the object in the first clause, but what is important is that it must function as the subject in the second clause.

E.g:
Saleem got a job, and he is very happy.

Saleem got a job that pays him well.

Awais and I are good friends, but we fell into an unexpected argument last night which drove him crazy.

Maryam made us a cake that was very delicious 😋.


Object Pronoun:

Object pronoun functions as the direct object or the indirect object in a sentence replacing the antecedent object(the object of the previous sentence/ the object that comes before it). The word, It replaces, must be a noun in the first clause.
This kind of the pronouns is used after prepositions as well.
